A transcription from a microfilm of a gravestone in Smithville Cem., DeKalb Co. reads, in part, "Mary G.,
Daughter of Marguis(sic) & Mary Shryer," with Mary's birth and death year noted as 1853. We suspect the
father ("Marquis?") might have migrated from Trigg & Christian Counties, KY. We'd very much like
to correspond with anyone who knows about these folks, especially anyone who might double-check the gravestone
inscription. We'd be happy to share our own discoveries. Thank you.
