Maggie Scott 1879-1966
Tom Scott was the son of Randolph and Jane McMillen Scott, both buried
here. He was born on December 14, 1871 in Liberty, DeKalb, TN. He
married Maggie Hawker on October 24, 1894 in Dekalb Co, TN. He died on
November 29, 1938 in a Nashville, Davidson Co., TN hospital. He had
apoplexy. He was buried on November 30. He was a farmer. The informant
for his death certificate was Grady Scott.
Maggie Lee Hawker was born March 2, 1879. She was the daughter
of William and Nancy J Bean (Bane?). She died July 12, 1966
in Huntersville, Mechlenburg Co., North Carolina, but resided in
Gastonia, Gaston Co., NC. Her death record there states she was buried
in Laurel Wood Cemetery at Rock Hill, SC. The SSDI shows her social
security number was issued in TN. Somehow, regardless of where her
death record states she was to be buried, she was buried here with her
husband. Her death record also names her husband and parents.
