Alva Henley
Jones 1897-1957
Alva Gene Henley was born May 27, 1897 in Tennessee to Byrd and Mary
Scott Henley. According to her death certificate, she married Henry
Jones. She died December 23, 1957 at St Thomas Hospital in Nashville of
heart disease and arteriosclerosis, and was also residing in Nashville
at the time. The informant was Mrs P E Bodily of Nashville.
Alva Gene Henley married first to George Hudson Crook (b. abt. 1895) on
September 28, 1913 in DeKalb Co., TN. Their children were: a stillborn
female June 12, 1914 buried at Dismal, Anne Crook (b. 1917), and a
stillborn male was buried in Fullers Chapel Cemetery, born and died on
Sept. 8, 1923. In the 1920 census, George and Alva were residing in
DeKalb Co., TN. By 1930 George Hudson Crook had moved to Davidson Co.,
TN and remarried to Altie Mabry. It seems Alva (Henley) had divorced
him in Davidson Co., TN and remarried to Henry Jones there. No details
known for Alva Henley in Davidson Co., TN other than from her death
certificate.
