General [his first name, not rank] Ulysses "Less" Grant Roberts
[full name from WWI draft application in Wilson Co., TN combined with
1930 census of Wilson Co., TN] was the son of Thomas John and Samantha
Jane (Jenkins)
Roberts, both parents buried here also. He married Elza Vanatta on
August 31, 1906 in DeKalb Co., TN. Less died in DeKalb Co., TN. He
lived in Wilson Co, and in later years he lived in DeKalb County on
what is now known as Old Liberty Road.

Vanatta was the daughter of Jordan and Sintha Caroline (Wauford)
Vanatta, both parents buried in Vanatta Cemetery in DeKalb Co., TN
(cemetery #134 in the cemetery book), and her parents' graves are
recorded on this DeKalb Co., TNGenWeb site in the cemeteries section.
Elza died on July 18, 1934 at Alexandria in District 13, Wilson Co, TN,
where she resided, of breast cancer. She was buried on July 19, 1934.
Their children were:
