JOHN ROBINSON
Co K, 10th TN Infantry
John W. Robinson was a Private in Company K, 10th TN Infantry. He
enlisted and mustered on October 13, 1862 and discharged June 23, 1865.
There are no dates on tombstone, but his Wilson Co., TN death
certificate lists his birth and death and parents. He was still alive
and listed in the 1890 Union Veterans census of District 13, Wilson
Co., TN as "John W. Robinson".
John was born February 1, 1840 and died June 3, 1922 in District 13,
Wilson Co., TN. His death certificate states he was buried in Talley
Cemetery on June 4, 1922. He was the son of Steve Robinson and Charlotte
"Lotty" Hays. He married first to Eliza C. Roberts on September 5, 1867
in Wilson Co., TN. He married Mary E. Tarpley as his second wife on
August 11, 1872 in Wilson Co., TN. Confirming the match between the
Civil War records and the family in the censuses is the notation that
John served in the Union army "UA" in the 1910 census of District 13,
Wilson Co., TN. John's sister, Julia, married Francis Turner, both buried here also.
Eliza C. Roberts was born abt. 1849 the daughter of W. W. and Martha
(MNU) Roberts.
Mary E. Tarpley was born December 1845 the daughter of William Boyd and
Sarah (MNU) Tarpley and died before 1910.

Margaret Alice (b. 1873-d. 1897) md. Isaac "Ike" Harvey- she was buried
here, Andrew (abt. 1875), Lessie/Leslie (July 29, 1879), Arthur A.
(Sept. 1886) who somehow in the 1910 census becomes William Chester
Robinson, born same month and year and is buried here [probably, the
name "Arthur A." was wrong in the 1900 census].
