The Jefferson Rowland Cemetery is located near the Laurel Hill area of Dekalb County on a farm on the Caney Fork River. The entrance to the farm is located at the end of Love Valley Road. The cemetery was created by Jefferson Rowland in 1845, when his wife Mary died, and is enclosed by a wrought iron fence which was built as stipulated in Jefferson Rowland's will. The money to pay for it came from his estate. I lived on that farm as a young child. My mother recorded the stones, and I have seen the cemetery often.
