The following comes from a Bible belonging to David Kyle, b. May 13, 1840.

John H. Burnett was born in the year 1830, left VR. In 1859

David Burnett was born yr. 1827

William Kyle was born June 11, 1838

David Kyle was born May 13, 1840

Mary E. Cooper b. Aug. 9, 1846

Bartlett Kyle May 18, 1859

Arabella Kyle b. Oct.17, 1860

Docia Kyle b. June 4, 1862

Virginia W. Kyle b. Nov. 18, 1859

Hugh Eler Kyle was born Apr.14, 1862

This David Kyle was my gggrandfather; his children were Bartlett, Arabella, and Docia. David was 10 years old in the 1850 DeKalb Co. census, living with Charles Cooper and wife Saluda Burnett Cooper. By 1860 he was married to a Mary. I have no further information on him.

This information was in Saluda Burnett Cooper’s will.

DeKalb Co Wills Vol 1854-1900 p. 190:

Ludia Ann Cooper gives to Docia Kyle gives her share of distributice share of the estate of my grandfather Johnson, in hands of John H. Burnett and also her share of deceased sisters share Sara Burnett and also leaving life estate to my sister Aggy Burnett. Oct. 21, 1876

Bartley Kyle and others were in Smith County in 1840.
