It is bordered on the north by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/carroll\/\">Carroll County<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tngennet.org\/benton\/\">Benton County<\/a>, on the west by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/henderson\">Henderson County<\/a>, on the south by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tngennet.org\/hardin\/\">Hardin County<\/a>, and on the east by the Tennessee River. Decatur County was created by dividing Perry County along the line of the Tennessee River in November, 1845, and adding a parcel along the western boundary from Henderson County, this to take effect March 1, 1846. The county was named for Commodore Stephen Decatur, officer in the War of 1812. The county seat is Decaturville.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have built a new Decatur Co.
