I am researching the family of Captain William White (Greene & Roane
Counties) who served in the Revolution under Col. William Christian while
living on the frontier in what is now Greene County. He later moved to
Roane County. I am researching the Turpin family of Anderson & Roane
Counties that are descended from Martin Turpin who married Elizabeth
Russell in 1805 in Knox County. Elizabeth Russell is probably the
daughter of Henry Russell. I would greatly appreciate help locating the
maiden name of the wife of James Turpin (son of Martin Turpin &
Elizabeth Russell) whose first name was Jerusha. I am researching the
family of Abram Qualls of Roane County. He migrated from Virginia to
Sullivan Co., TN, and then to Roane County. I am researching the McNew
family in Greene County, TN. In particular, I am trying to learn the
parents of Jesse McNew who is shown in the 1850 Census of Greene County,
TN, living in the household of Richard Runnels (Reynolds).

Where can I locate the vital statistic records for time dating back to
the early 1700s before pioneers moved to Grainger County, (Clinch
River/north end).
John Arnwine, Sr. lived near Rutledge (in Puncheon Camp) in 1796. He had
a son born in 1786 (Albartus Arnwine
and a brother John Arnwine, Jr. (John Senior fought in the Revolutionary
War, Captain, and he was also a minister of the
gospel an or justice of the peace). I realize that Grainger Co., was
formed from Hawkins County in 1796, however, I am having
difficulty locating a marriage license, for John Arnwine Sr., a birth
certificate for his sons, or a death certificate.
I do know that the family was buried in the "Arnwine Cemetery"
in Grainger. Could you possibly
give me the location of that cemetery and who I can contact to canvass
the cemetery, or has some information regarding
how to go about locating the tombstones of the family members burid
there..
Please let me know what you have available regarding the history of
Grainer County in the early years (1796 and earlier).
I am also interested in immigration records.
I am also interested in the Winston Adkins family of the same area.
Winston Died in 1833 in Grainger County
His wife was Moriah. I am trying to locate the death certificate, will,
Moriah's maiden name and any other information
regarding the family.
Thank you sincerely,

Looking for more information on the descendants of John Ford and
Elizabeth England, who migrated from central Virginia to
Cumberland County about 1801. From "Cumberland County's First
Hundred Years" by Helen Bullard and Joseph Krechniak (1956), I
know that some of their descendants married into Renfro, Loden,
Bristow, Davenport, DeRossett, Dorton, and Garrison among others.
Unfortunately, the book gave no dates of birth or death.
Some key names are John Ford, Christopher Ford, Mark Bristow,
William Loden, and Moses Dorton. I have lots of England info to
share.

Joseph Wilson's (1788-1856) first wife? Joseph had at least the
following children: Neomy Oma, Moses, and Asberry. Joseph's 2nd
wife was Fanny. They had the following children: Elizabeth,
Nancy, Sarah, Lewis, Edward and William. I believe Joseph,
