Frederic k, Abraham, and/or Thomas SWAGERTY settled in Swagerty Cove1780-1820. Thomas (b. ca. 1783) bought land from John TOLLETT in1807, married Anna___, had about 8 children. Thomas left SwagertyCove about 1819, moved to Marion Co. TN and then on to AR in 1824.Aquilla NAIL probably lived nearby, possibly in Grassy Cove. ThomasJames Axley SWAGERTY, son of Thomas, and Mary NAIL, daughter ofAquilla, later married (about 1840 in AR). Thomas SWAGERTY and NAILfamilies might have been members of Grassy Cove Methodist Church inits early days.
