Will of Rebecca Hudgins State of Tennesse Madison County Feb 4, 1858 I Rebecca Hudgins of the County & State affore said being of a sound mind & well disposing memory do make publish & declare this to be my last will & testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills at any time heretofore by me made. 1st I give to Wm Weeks one dollar as his entire portion of my estate & no more 2nd I give to Aletha Hudgins my daughter in law one dollar as her entire portion of my estate & no more 3rd I give to my son John Hudgins one dollar more out of my estate together with the advancements by me made for which I hold him reciept for same & no more 4th I give to my grand daughter Rebecca H*** & her children Seventy five dollars as their entire portion of my estate & no more 5 I give to my grandson Elsworth Hudgins Seventy five dollars out of my estate as his entire portion of the same & no more 6 I give my grandson C C Hudginsone hundred dollars out of my estate as his entire portion of the same & no more 7th I give to my grandson Wm Malory one hundred dollars out of my estate as his entire portion of the same & no more 8th I give to my grand daughter Elizabeth Satchfield Seventy five dollars out of my estate as her entire portion of the same & no more 9th the above amounts to be paid by my executors within two years after my death out of my estate in Tennessee provided there should be enough of it to do the same 10th the remainder of my estate consisting of the following named slaves to wit Mary & her son Peter, Nancy and her son, John and Rebecca & their increase I give to my son Thomas Hudgins after my death & to his heirs at law with the exception of his wife Lucy who is not to have anything out of my estate. with this desire that he at his death if he chooses to do so to give Mary & her increase to his son Samuel Egbert & in the event he does the same that to be his entire portion of my estate Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Thos Hudgins as my executor to this my last will & testament and to carry out the provisions of the same. ******* where of I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this day and date heretofore mention Rebecca X Hudgins Signed sealed published & declared By Rebecca Hudgins as and for her last will & testament in the presents and hearings of us who at her request and in her presents we have subscribed our names as witness then to this the 4 day of Feb 1858
