Will of GEORGE L. HAMLETT
Probated June 8, 1933

Last Will and Testament of GEORGE L. HAMLETT

Know all men by these presents that I, GEORGE L. HAMLETT, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making of no effect any and all wills or codicils heretofore made by me at any time:

First; I direct that out of the proceeds of my $2000.00 life insurance, that all my just debts be paid and my burial expenses and the remainder of the said $2000.00 insurance be divided equally between my wife ALICE HAMLETT, my daughter ROSA DROKE and my son EDMOND HAMLETT.

Second; I give to my son EDMUND HAMLETT my gold watch, and to my daughter ROSA DROKE my gold Masonic ring, and to my nephew, FRANK R. HAMLETT I give my gold headed walking cane that used to belong to the late J. F. ROBERTSON.

Third; I give and bequeath to my wife ALICE HAMLETT in fee simple the cottage and grounds in and upon which we are now living, situated in Crockett Mills, Tenn.

Fourth; I give and bequeath to my son, EDMUND HAMLETT and to my daughter ROSA DROKE jointly, one hundred acres off of the west end or west side of my farm lying in the 9th civil district of Crockett County, Tenn. and I give and bequeath to my son JOHN L. HAMLETT the remainder of the said farm, being the east portion of the same which contains about 82 ½ acres, but it is to be divided by a line running practically north and south through the said farm but so run as to leave the main dwelling on the portion hereby given to ROSA DROKE and EDMUND HAMLETT. My wife ALICE HAMLETT is to receive the rents or income from the entire farm during the term of her natural life provided she does not marry, but in case she should marry then and in that event her right to rents or other income from the farm ceases and it shall revert in fee simple to the said ROSA DROKE, EDMUND HAMLETT and JOHN L. HAMLETT as set forth above in this fourth clause. Also the said ALICE HAMLETT is required to pay taxes and insurance while she is receiving the rents and income from the said land, failing to pay said taxes and insurance for a period of two years, then and in that event she forfeits her right to any rents or income from the said farm and it shall revert to the said ROSA DROKE, EDMUND HAMLETT and JOHN L. HAMLETT.

Fifth; For the purpose of carrying out this my last will and testament I hereby nominate and appoint J. C. HAMLETT my executor without requiring bond of him as executor. And in case the said HAMLETT by death or otherwise is unable to act as executor, then I hereby appoint my son EDMUND HAMLETT to act as executor in the said HAMLETT's stead, also the said EDMUND HAMLETT be not required to give bond.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal on this the 26th day of April A. D. 1933

GEORGE L. HAMLETT
