In the name of God Amen

I ALSA GARRETT of the County of Crockett and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and disposing memory and intending to start shortly on a trip to the State of Texas and Calling to mind the danger of such a trip and the mortality of the body do make Constitute and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following Viz My soul I commit to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth to be burried in a plain decent Christian like manner. It is my will that all my lawful debts be paid as soon after my death as possable. It is further my will and desire that all my effects both Real and personal be sold by my Executor whom I shall hereafter nominate and appoint on such terms as he or the Court may think best for the heirs subject to a Dower and such property and allowances as the Court may make to my wife FANNIE M. GARRETT provided she does not take a childs part which it is my will she shall have the right to take if she prefers to do so. It is further my will and desire that if my wife FANNIE M. GARRETT shall elect to take a childs part or share equally with my children whom I shall hereafter name then all my entire estate both real and personal to be sold as above named by my Executor and the proceeds to be distributed as herein after mentioned . To my wife FANNIE M. GARRET, my son WILLIAM GARRETT, JOHN B. GARRETT, THOMAS J. GARRETT and to my Daughter SUSAN ADAMS, MARTHA GARRETT, MARY A. CRAIG, JENNIE GRIFFIN and my son ALSA J. GARRETT them and their heirs and assigns be equally interested in my estate and have share and share alike with this difference that my son ALSA J. GARRETT have four hundred dollars more than any other one for the purpose of raising and educating him provided my wife FANNIE M. GARRETT should choose to take a dower and such property and provisions as the Court would allow then and in that case it is my will and desire that the balance of my entire estate bw sold and divided among my Children as above named & specified and I hereby nominate and appoint A. T. FIELDER Executor to carry out this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I hereby set my hand and seal this the 4th day of May Ad 1875.
