EMMA DUFFEY Will Ordered Recorded M.R.B. Page 510 January Term 1879 In the name of God amen, I EMMA DUFFEY do make and publish this my last will and testament... I give and bequeath to my son I. N. VAIL my carpet and all the parlor furniture now in my parlor, my sewing machine & one cane bottom rocking chair. I direct that the stock of drugs now owned by me in the town of Friendship be sold by my Executor and that the proceeds of said sale Seven hundred and eight 67/ dollars (708.67) by paid to my son I. N. VAIL and the balance of the proceeds of said stock of drugs be paid to my husband J. W. DUFFEY or that on the payment of said amount of $708.67 by my said husband to my said son I. N. VAIL he my said husband J. W. DUFFEY be allowed to retain all of said drugs together will all a/c's arising from said business. I give and bequeath to my daughter KATIE DUFFEY all my silver forks, spoons my gold watch and chain two beds and bedsteads one wardrobe one large trunk one kitchen safe and all my kitchen furniture, one Cow and calf, and all my wearing apparel. I give to CHARLEY DUFFEY (colored) one circle end bed stead, one feather bed one coverlid 1 Bed quilt and one pillow. I give to my son I. N. VAIL for life my house and lot known as the Drug store lot in town of Friendship Crockett Co. Tenn. bought by me from W. S. HARTSFIELD on the 16 Oct 1871... also the vacant lot adjoining same, vacant lot bought by me from R. J. DAVIS Jan. 31st 1872... to have all the profits... of the same during his natural life, and at his death if my daughter KATIE DUFFEY be living I give it to her for her natural life and at her death said property in fee to the bodily heirs of my said son I. N. VAIL and my daughter KATIE DUFFEY. But if my daughter KATE (as written) DUFFEY dies without bodily heirs during the life of my son I. N. VAIL said property to vest in my said son I. N. NAIL in fee simple. I give to my daughter KATIE DUFFEY all of my interest in the house and lot in Friendship Tenn. in which we now live bought from J. P. SMITH Trustee &C; on the 17th February 1876. I name my son I. N. VAIL guardian for my daughter KATIE DUFFEY and instruct that he take charge of all the property herein bequeathed to her, until she marries or arrives at the age of 21 years.
