Will of S. D. BALENTINE
Probated July 12, 1927

Know all men by these presents that I, S. D. BALENTINE of the county of Crockett state of Tennessee, being of sound min and disposing memory do make and publish this as my last will and Testament:

First: I want all my just debts paid out of any money on had or such money as may first come into the hands of my Executor.

2nd: I hereby give and devise to my beloved wife MATTIE L. BALLENTINE for and during her natural life all of the real estate of which I die seized and possessed of.

3rd: After the death of my wife, the said MATTIE L. BALLENTINE, I want my real estate to be divided by my daughter PEARL CHRISTMAN, One half to the children of my deceased EARNEST BALLENTINE, one half.

To make this last provision perfectly clear; I hereby devise and give to my daughter PEARL CHRISTMAN (subject to the life estate of my wife MATTIE L. BALLENTINE) a one half undivided interest in all of the land or other real estate of which I may die seized and possessed. The other one half undivided interest in my real estate, I hereby devise (subject to the life estate of my wife MATTIE L. BALENTINE) to the children of my deceased son EARNEST BALENTINE. The children of the said EARNEST BALLENTINE are to take and hold their undivided interest in said real estate as tenants in common, share and share alike.

At the present time I only own one peace of real estate, the same being the farm on which I reside, and situated in the 11th civil district of Crockett county, Tennessee.

4th: I hereby give and bequeath to my wife, the said MATTIE L. BALLENTINE all of the personal property I may die seized and possessed.

5th: I hereby give and bequeath to my son, TOM C. BALENTINE, the sum of Ten ($10) Dollars to be paid to him by my executor, out of the money on hand, or out of such money as may first come into his hands after he assumes control of my estate, and all of the remainder of the personal property of every kind and character, (after the Ten ($10) Dollars is paid to TOM C. BALLENTINE, I hereby give and bequeath, as stated in item 4th to my wife MATTIE L. BALLENTINE.

I hereby appoint my wife MATTIE L. BALLENTINE, executrix of this my last will and testament without bond. This August 18th, 1924.
