James Albert Young Obituary

Killed in auto accident--Services for James Albert Young of Halls, who lost his life Sunday night, when his car plunged into a water-filled bar pit on Highway 51, were held at 2:30 Monday at South Fork Baptist Church near Friendship. The Rev. Edgar Williams and the Rev. John Seaton officiated. Burial was in Bowen's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Sudbury Funeral Home of Halls. Mr. Young, who was 21, apparently lost control of his automobile just north of South Fork Bridge, county officers said. A companion, Miss Pauline Robinson was injured seriously. She is in Baird-Brewer Hospital at Dyersburg. The investigators said that while Mr. Young suffered numerous injuries, his death may have been caused by drowning. He was born in Dyer Country, and spent most of his life in this area. He served two years in the Army during World War II, and on his return was employed by an electric service firm in Halls. He leaves his mother, Mrs. J. B. Young and a brother, Kenneth Young, both of Halls.
