Gordon Worthington Obituary

Gordon Worthington--Services were held at the Providence Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for Mr. Gordon Worthington, prominent farmer and church leader of Crockett Mills. Rev. G. G. Joiner of Parsons officiated. Burial was in Lanier Family Cemetery with Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Worthington, who was 78, had been a resident of Crockett Mills for 58 years. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church there. He died at his home Monday. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lena Boyd Worthington; a son Jim Henry Worthington of Crockett Mills and a daughter, Mrs. Roy Slayton of Crockett Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Thompson and Mrs. Elizabeth Young of Bonham, Texas.
