The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, September 23, 1948 Vol. 16, No. 30 J. W. Vaughn, Sr.-Services for J. W. Vaughn, Sr., farmer, who died of a heart attack on a Friendship street Saturday morning were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Palestine Methodist Church near Halls. The Rev. Smith Mark officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Sudbury Funeral Home. Mr. Vaughn, who lived near Friendship, had come into town for the day Saturday and was stricken just before noon. He was a Methodist. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice Vaughn; five sons, Ruby Vaughn of Flint, Mich., Raymond Vaughn of Fowlkes, Harry, Denious and J. W. Vaughn, Jr., all of near Friendship; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Gilbert of Dyersburg, Mrs. Morris Baker of Friendship, Mrs. Sam Archer and Mrs. Raymond Reynolds of Halls; two brothers, Jeff Vaughn of Fowlkes and Charles Vaughn of Denver, Colo., and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Morgan of Dyersburg and Mrs. Nannie Cathey of Clarksdale, Miss. |
