Mrs. Gladys Thornton Services for Mrs. Gladys Thorn- ton, 58, were held Tuesday at 10 o'clock at Nance Church of Christ with Wendell Bloomingberg of Henderson officiating. Burial was in Center cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Thornton died Sunday night at Jackson-Madison County hospital. She was the widow of the late Claude Thornton. She was born in Crockett County, daughter the late Perry Hix and Rena Sipes Boyd. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Barney Smith and Mrs. Charles Reece, both of near Alamo; two sisters, Mrs. Hall Smith and Mrs. James Hunt, both of near Alamo; two brothers, C. B. Boyd of Chicago and David Boyd of Knoxville; 4 grandchildren. (Mary Gladys Boyd Thornton was born 11 Oct 1908 in the Center community in Crockett County. She died 24 Sep 1967.) |
