CROCKETT COUNTY SENTINEL VOLUME 77 NUMBER 27 THURSDAY OCTOBER 27, 1949 BELLS, TENNESSEE DEATH--George E. TATUM, former Humboldtan, died suddenly on October 8th at his home in St. Louis, Mo., of coronary thrombosis. Funeral was held from Alexander's Mortuary in St. Louis, burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors. He was born July 3, 1896, at Gadsden, Tenn., first son of Viola D. BRASFIELD and George Ferdinand TATUM. In 1917, he was married to Miss Mabel ELAM, and to them two sons were born, George Elam TATUM, who died from a tragic accident at age five and Robert Henry TATUM, who survives him. Also his mother, Mrs. Ola D. TATUM, of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Louis A. FELDMAN, of Florida, Mrs. Alfred THOMPSON and Mrs. Thomas FINN, both of St. Louis and one brother, Solomon W. TATUM of St. Louis.
