Crockett County Sentinel Alamo, Tennessee Friday, Feb. 27, 1874 Died, on the 21st inst., at his residence in this town, in the 53rd year of his age, Mr. Wm. H. Tanner. A shroud of gloom was thrown over this entire community by the death of Mr. Tanner. Industrious and quiet in his private affairs, a devoted member of the M. E. Church South, str4aight-forward and honest in his dealings with his fellow-men, he was universally admired and respected in this community, and the vacuum caused by his death cannot easily be filled. To the disconsolate widow and bereaved orphans we offer our tenderest sympathies. The funeral of the deceased was preached by Rev. Dr. Duckworth last Sunday and his body was interred in the cemetery by the Masonic fraternity. |
