The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, January 1, 1948 Vol. 15 No. 44 Rufus B. Smith, 54, a former citizen of this county, died suddenly Saturday at his home in Memphis where he had lived for the past seven years. Mr. Smith was a carpenter and followed his trade in Memphis. He had many friends in Alamo and community and is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Iva Mae Holley of Knoxville, and Mrs. Cordie Lou Mansfield of Alamo; one son, Wayne Dillon of Memphis; two brothers, Dorsey O. Smith of Alamo and Will Smith of Huntingdon; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Churchwell, Mrs. Andrew Kail and Mrs. Charley Johnson of Alamo. The remains were brought to Nance Church of Christ for services Sunday afternoon. |
