Services for Mrs. C. C. Smith were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, Friendship, R. E. Black, Church of Christ minister of Maury City officiating. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery with Sudbury Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Smith, the widow of the late C. C. Smith, Friendship merchant, was a lifelong resident of Friendship. She died Friday night at the home of her daughters in Barlow, Fla. She was 89, a member of a pioneer family of Crockett County. Mrs. Smith was a devout member of the Church of Christ.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. W. C. James of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Mrs. R. J. Blackburn and Mrs. Estelle Grayson of Barlow.

Out of town visitors for the funeral were: Mrs. Eugene Permenter, Ray Permenter, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Sanford, Bells; Sanford Permenter of Somerville; Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Yearwood, Brownsville, Miss Martha Permenter, Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Pate, Mrs. Riley, Mr. Barber, Mrs. W. M. Thompson, Dyersburg; Mr. and Mrs. Don Warren, Alfred Conley, Henry Conley, Mrs. Watt Hunt, Mrs. Edgar Boone, Mrs. Eva Speight and son, Dean, Alamo; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Putman, Mr. and Mrs. James S. Putman, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Smith and son; Mr. Liston Bedwell, Mr. and Mrs. Brothers, Bonicord; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Carter, Iron City, Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Blackburn, Mrs. Estelle Grayson, Barlow, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Smith, Huntsville, Ala.


Susan "Fannie" Bryant and C. Curlee Smith were married 2 Dec 1876 in Crockett Co.
