Services announced for Mrs. Kate Rooks-Humboldt, Tenn., Dec. 6--Services for Mrs. Kate Senter Rooks, widow of Charles Rooks, Humboldt publisher, who died at her home Monday afternoon, will be held at the residence Tuesday at 2:30. The Rev. Hayward Highfill and Dr. Theron Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Hunt Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Rooks, who was 72, was born and reared in Humboldt, daughter of the late William Thomason and Annie M. Senter. She was the granddaughter of the late Rev. Moses E. Senter, first mayor of Humboldt. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, Charles W. Rooks, editor of The Courier-Chronicle for more than 50 years, died last April 28. She leaves a son, Charles S. Rooks, successor to his father in the local newspaper; four daughters, Mrs. M. S. McKnight, Mrs. Lain Fitzgerald, Mrs. Dan S. Tuttle and Mrs. Nathan Couch, all of Humboldt, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe S. Cresap and Mrs. Emma Bradbury, and seven grandchildren, all of Humboldt.
