Carrie Lee Riddick Obituary

Carrie Lee Riddick was born March 3, 1898 and went to the Great Beyond November 22, 1928.

Age 30 years 8 months and 19 days.

In the very bloom of young womanhood, in the mid-morning of life, disease fastened his merciless talons in her vitals, and with a cruel gripe held her fast till death released her.

Death is generally rated a cruel monster, but oftentimes it is a welcome messenger, the only cure for the ills and diseases that challenge and baffle the skill of earthly physicians.

The inspired writer had a vision of just such a case as this when he said O death where is thy sting, O grieve where is they victory

Life, when heath is hale and heart, where love is abundant and free, and when friends and prosperity surround us, is a continuous stream of joy and happiness, but when there is a famine of these earthly blessings, life loses its charms and the hope we have in the Home of the Soul draws us onward and upward.

Carries life for 27 years was bountifully supplied with the things it takes to make it full and joyous. The last 3 years was crowded and over whelmed with indescribable suffering. From the cup of joy she drank with all the glee and gratitude of a buxom girl and a splendid young women; from the cup of suffering, which she drank to its dregs, she drank without a murmur or compliant. She had every attention that loved ones could give, for which she was ever graciously thankful.

She knew the end was at hand, and anxiously awaited the summons to Come up higher

It is a blessed thought that when lifes trails and sufferings are over, that a sweet painless rest is so promised to the faithful and true.
