CROCKETT COUNTY SENTINEL BELLS, TENNESSEE THURSDAY MARCH 2, 1950 DEATH... Services for the Rev. William Earl POWELL, former pastor of the Gibson County group of Southern Presbyterial Churches of Memphis Presbytery, were held Sunday, February 12th in the Fruitland Church, burial followed in Oakland Cemetery in Trenton. He was 64. Services were held Saturday at his church in Selma, Ala. The body and the funeral party arrived in Jackson late Saturday and came directly to Trenton. Born in Alamo, he was a son of the late Judge William and Rebecca McLEARY POWELL. He leaves his wife, the former Miss Katie HARRIS of Brazil; a son, William E. POWELL Jr., who resides with his parents; a daughter, Mrs. John HOWELL of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, Ralph POWELL, Bob POWELL, and Jim POWELL, all of Fruitland, and five grandchildren. |
