ITEMS FROM SALEM--The many friends of MRS. CHARLEY PORTER regret to learn of her
death, which occurred Saturday morning at her home near Coxville.
April 13, 1923
MRS. CHARLEY PORTER--a very estimable lady of this community (Coxville), after a
week's illness died and was buried at Porter's Cemetery Sunday. Funeral services
were conducted at her home by Rev. J. C. W. NUNN, of Bells. Her bereaved husband and
children have the sympathy of many friends. (Taken from a lengthy memorial in the
April 13th issue: her husband was Charles O. PORTER; she had six children; Cora
PORTER died soon after daybreak on March 31st, 1923. She was 41 years old. Memorial
was written by Mrs. Ira PORTER.)
