G. W. Pate Obituary

G. W. Pate--G. W. Pate, well known Dyer countian, passed away Friday night at the advanced age of 92 years. Mr. Pate died at the home of his son, Lester Pate, at 703 St. John Avenue Extended, Dyersburg, where he had made his home for the past year. Mr. Pate was a member of the Finley Methodist Church. He was a man of estimable character and was held in high respect by his many friends in the county. Besides his son with whom he made his home for the past year, another son, Homer Pate, Columbia, Tenn. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him. Funeral rites were held at four o'clock at the Saint John Avenue address. The rites were said by Rev. Barrett, minister of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Friendship Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
