The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, November 4, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 36 Pfc. Roland R. O'Neal--Services for Pfc. Roland R. O'Neal, who was killed in France in the battle of St. Lo, July 15, 1944, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. W. C. Skinner officiating. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery with military honors by Company I, 117th Infantry, Tennessee National Guard. Friendship Funeral Home was in charge. Private O'Neal, who was 29, was born in Friendship and attended Friendship High School. He volunteered for the Regular Army in 1941 after serving in the Tennessee Guard. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He leaves his father, L. P. O'Neal of Friendship; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Davison and Mrs. Katie Sue Reynolds of Friendship and three brothers, J. B. O'Neal of Friendship, Gordon O'Neal of Detroit and Robert O'Neal of Waynesboro, Ga. |
