Funeral services were held in Yorkville Baptist Church, Thursday afternoon, March 4 at 2:00 o'clock for R. L. McGee of Yorkville. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Leon Conley of Jackson and Rev. J. T. Barker of Newbern. Interment in Yorkville Cemetery.

He was born August 29, 1865 in Haywood County, moving to Crockett County at an early age where he was engaged in farming and milling business. In 1911 he moved to Gibson County near Yorkville where he continued to operate his farm until his retirement two years ago.

He was the survivor of a family of ten children, was converted and joined the Baptist Church in early life to which he remained a faithful and loyal member to the day of his death.

He was married to Miss Alice Ray, December 31, 1884, who preceded him in death 1 year and 18 days. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Banks P. Turner of Yorkville, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. His genial disposition, high moral standards and love for people, won his many and lasting friends.
