The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, October 17, 1946 George H. Lemons Rites To Be Held This Morning Funeral services for George H. Lemons, 83, long time resident of Muskogee who died Monday, will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Petering chapel, with the Rev. Leland Clegg, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill cemetery Pallbearers will be G. G. Proctor, Hugh Marsh, R. B. Lazenby, Lawson Harris, William Terrel and W. H. Brooks. Survivors are a son, Sam Lemons and a daughter, Mrs. Allene Whitley, bot of Muskogee; a brother, Byron Lemons of Paris, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Vaughan of Memphis, Tenn., and two grand children, Sammy Kyle Whitley and Virginia B. Whitley, both of Muskogee. Mr. Lemons was born and reared in Maury City, moving to Oklahoma 40 years ago. From the Muskogee (Okla.) newspaper |
