Services for John H. Lanier, retired farmer who died Thursday at the home of his son Tollice, near Crockett Mills, were held Friday at Providence Baptist Church with Elder Perkins of Kentucky officiating. Mr. Lanier was of the Primitive belief.

Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements and burial in Lanier graveyard.

Mr. Lanier was 75 years of age and one of the leading citizens of the Ninth District. He was at one time a member of the Crockett County Court.

He leaves another son, Russell Lanier of Crockett Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Powell of Maury City; Mrs. Pearl Woods of Crockett Mills, two brothers, Edd Lanier of Memphis and Albert Lanier of Meridian, Miss.

The Laniers have lived in the Crockett Mills community for many years and many other relatives and friends survive Mr. Lanier.
