Thursday, April 24, 1947 Mrs. Rachel Emma Jane Jackson Miss Rachel Emma Jane Jackson died at the home of her grand daughter, Mrs. Murphy McKenzie on April 18, 10:00 a.m., at the age of 79. She was born in Dyer County but spent most of her life in Jackson. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. G. Presler of Dyer, Tann., and Rev. A. H. Mitchell of Jackson. She is survived by seven grand children, Mrs. Robert Cole of Gadsden, Mrs. Garland Sutton of Jackson, Mrs. Murphy McKenzie of Gadsden, Hazel Lewis of Jackson, Ward Lewis of Memphis, Mrs. B. C. Jones of New Orleans and Mrs. Lewis Jordan of Jackson. Burial in Cypress Cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge. [Note: The headline lists her as Mrs., but the obit states Miss] |
