The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, September 25, 1947 Mrs. Alvin Hughes Services for Mrs. Alvin Hughes, who died at her home in Friendship Saturday afternoon were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church at Elizabeth. The Rev. W. L. Drake of Ripley officiated. Burial in Elizabeth Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Hughes was 50. She was born in Crockett County, and until ill health prevented was an active member of Elizabeth Methodist Church. She leaves her husband; a son, J. B. Hughes of Bells; a daughter, Mrs. D. R. Smith of Jackson; five sisters, Mrs. Bob Hazlewood of Humboldt, Mrs. Horace Vernon of Elizabeth, Mrs. Oliver Ferguson of Milan, Mrs. Maurray Eskew of Friendship; and two brothers, G. C. Sanders and E. L. Sanders of Memphis. |
