MR. J. M. HEFLEY PASSES AWAY

James M. Hefley, 88, a well-known retired farmer of Gibson County near Coxville, died Friday morning at his home where he has been living for 58 years. He was in very good health until about two weeks before death came as a relief to his suffering body. He was married to Mary Katherine Burrow who proceeded him three years ago. To this union ten children were born, seven of whom survive. They are Henry Hefley of Coxville, G. P. Hefley of Humboldt, Arthur Hefley of Jackson, Mrs. Eliza Griffin, Mrs. Rosa Reasons of Humboldt, Mrs. Lula Dunlap and Mrs. Mattie Moore of Coxville, also thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren and a number of friends who sympathize with the bereaved ones. From early manhood he was a devoted member of the Baptist Church and lived a true and honest life to the end.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Hunt Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. C. C. Newbill and Rev. J.C.W. Nunn. Burial was in Rosamon Cemetery near Gadsden, beneath a mound of beautiful flowers.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Hunt Funeral Home in Humboldt for Mr. James M Hefley, aged 88. Burial took place in Rosamon Cemetery beside his wife who passed on three years ago. Mr. Hefley lived near Coxville. He is survived by three sons; Henry, George and Arthur; four daughters, Mrs Eliza Griffin of St. Louis, Mrs. Rosa Reasons, Mrs. Lula Dunlap and Mrs. Mattie Moore and a number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who have the sincere sympathy of their numerous friends. He was a member of the Baptist Church and always held his membership at Gadsden.
