ALAMO--Our community was saddened this morning when it was learned that D. WELLS HARRIS had died at his home on West Main Street at 7:45.

Thursday July 7, 1921

ALAMO DEATH--This community was made sad by the announcement of the sudden death of D. WELLS HARRIS, at his home at an early hour Tuesday morning, June 28th. He was one of Crockett's most successful editors and publishers, having followed this trade until April 1st, when he sold the Alamo Weekly Guide to W. D. FRANKLIN, and was made Deputy Organizer for the Maccabee Order. He was 43 years of age. Surviving him is his brother, and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. E. K. HARRIS and four nephews. Burial in Alamo Cemetery.
