George Herman Fisher

George Herman Fisher, 45 year old father of 12 children, died of phosphorous poisoning at 11:25 a.m. Sunday at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.

Born in Bedford County, Ark., Mr. Fisher moved to Maury City, Tenn., as a child. He was a farmer and member of Floyd's Chapel Church.

Services were held Tuesday morning at 11 at Oldfield Church with the Rev. E. R. Roach officiating. Burial under direction of Sudbury Funeral Home in Halls.

Mr. Fisher leaves his wife, Mrs. Evan Brown Fisher; eight sons, George Delton, Charles D., Herman W., Bobby J., Jerry D. and Larry F. Fisher, all of Maury City, James H. Fisher with the Navy at Norfolk and Billy L. Fisher with the Army in New Jersey; four daughters, Mrs. Margie Scallions, Mrs. Carmell Thompson, Miss Betty Dean Fisher and Miss Peggy Fisher, all of Maury City; four brothers, Asa and Ernest Fisher of Maury City, Johnny Fisher of Friendship and Oscar Fisher of Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Bell Riddick of St. Louis and Mrs. Mamie Lou Moncier of Maury City.
