The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, September 5, 1946 James B. Eubanks Funeral services for James B. Eubanks, 31, were held Monday at Walnut Hill Baptist Church near Bells. Mr. Eubanks died early Sunday morning. His body was found beside the railroad tracks in Bells at the L. & N. depot crossing and he breathed only a few minutes after being picked up about 12:15. It is supposed that he fell from a passing train. His mother, Mrs. Guy Eubanks; his wife, one son, Jimmy, and other relatives survive. He lived near Bells and was formerly a citizen of Alamo. Mr. Eubanks was badly burned in a powder plant explosion during the war where he was a munitions worker. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Oscar Patterson. Burial in Walnut Hill cemetery. The Crockett Times Correction A correction to be made in the write up in last weeks paper about the death of James B. Eubanks. He leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Eubanks of Bells, his wife and son, Jimmy of Humboldt, also eight brothers and four sisters, J. G. (Jack) Eubanks of Humboldt, Merlin of Memphis, Mrs. William Adcock, Halls, Wendell Eubanks of the Navy, R. G., Robert, Mary Kathryn, Berl, Gene, June, Finis and Peggy Eubanks, all of Bells and other relatives. Mr. Eubanks was employed in Memphis at the time of his death. |
