John P. Edwards Obituary

John P. Edwards--Mr. John P. Edwards, 85 years old retired farmer of the Cairo community, died Sunday at 4 p.m. of a heart attack. Mr. Edwards was a native of Obion County but had lived here for the greater part of his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church and one of the community's most highly esteemed citizens. His wife, five children, Jessie, Charlie and Willie Edwards, Mrs. Jasper Holt and Mrs. Dell Johnson, all of Crockett County, and one brother, Bill Edwards of Beebe, Ark., survive. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 at Pond Creek Methodist Church, the Rev. B. A. Walker officiating. Burial was in Pond Creek Cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge.
