Opal Mai Cox Obituary

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Miss Opal Cox, 18 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Cox of Coxville. Opal was buried in Cox's Chapel Cemetery last Thursday afternoon following funeral services conducted by Bro. Black at the church. The floral offerings were very pretty. Besides her parents, two sisters, three brothers, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Cox, survive. Opal was the youngest of six children. A more loyal or self-sacrificing set of brothers and sisters have never been, they were all just grand to Opal, and it certainly is sad for them to have to give her up at this time. She was a very quiet, sweet girl, hated by none and hated nobody. She was respected by all and respected everyone. She will not only be missed by her loved ones at home by the students and faculty of Humboldt High School as well. "Good bye" is a little word, but it means so much when it is said as a last farewell to one so near and dear to those on earth. Words are inadequate to give that meaning in its truest and humblest way when it means farewell forever.

The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cox and claimed their daughter, Opal Mai Cox, aged 18. She was sick only a few days. Opal will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She joined the church in 1933. We loved her, yes, we loved her, but the angels loved her more for they have sweetly called her to yonder shining shore. Weep not dear friends, for sister is at rest. God knows best.
