James Carl Cox, 72, Died at Cox Chapel Monday Morning

Funeral services were held Tuesday for James Carl Cox, who died suddenly at his home in the Cox Chapel early Monday morning as a result of a heart attack. He was 72. The funeral was held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, at Cox Chapel Church of Christ, the Rev. John H. Porter of Humboldt, officiating. Burial followed in Cox Chapel cemetery with Hunt Funeral Homes in charge.

Mr. Cox was born and reared in Crockett County, the son of the late Moses G. and Mattie McLeary Cox, pioneer family of West Tennessee. He had engaged in farming all of his life.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nannie Bell Cox, of Humboldt, two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Hopper, of Humboldt, Miss Blanche Cox, of Memphis, three sons, Reggie D. Cox of Fulton, Ky, Mose F. Cox and Robert C. Cox, both of Humboldt, three sisters, Mrs. E. S. Cox and Mrs. J. T. James, both of Humboldt, and Mrs. Ella Cozart of Cincinnati, Ohio, and half sister, Mrs. Linda James of Knoxville, and a half brother, James R. Cox of Ridgely, Tenn.
