The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, February 20, 1947 Mrs. Florence Coop Mrs. Florence Poston Coop, widow of Prof. S. S. Coop, a former school teacher and former city judge of Trenton, died yesterday at her home, 229 Cochran Place. Mrs. Coop moved to Memphis 15 years ago. She was 72. Born in Maury City, she was the daughter of Dr. J. W. Poston and the niece of Col. W. F. Poston, prominent in early Tennessee politics. She was active in civic and church work in Trenton and when her husband's health failed, took over his duties as city judge at Trenton. She was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Memphis. She leaves her daughter, Mrs. Ruth C. Palmer, and her brother, Richard Herbert Poston, both of Memphis. Services at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at National Funeral Home. Dr. J. Norris Palmer officiating. Burial in Alamo.
