The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, April 25, 1946 Keelen Rains Colvett Funeral services for Keelen Rains Colvett, 41, were held at Cairo Baptist Church Tuesday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. W. A. West of Medina and the Rev. J. T. Barker of Newbern, officiating. Mr. Colvett was born in Carroll County but came to this county when a child with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Franklin Colvett, and lived here practically all of his life. He died at his home in Alamo Sunday morning after an illness of several years. Mr. Colvett was a farmer and a fine young man. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a citizen of the highest type. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Faye Colvett; two sons, Bennie Colvett and Jimmie Colvett; one brother, Robert Colvett of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Homer Stanfield, Los Angeles, Calif.; two half sisters, Mrs. Ruth Schwebke, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Don Gordon, Boston, Mass.; step mother, Mrs. Annie Jones, Walnut, Miss.; grandmother, Mrs. F. P. Colvett, Alamo and many other relatives. Ronk Funeral Home in charge. |
