The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, October 31, 1946 Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. Ewell Cheatham Mrs. Serena Adline Cheatham, 37, wife of Mr. Ewell Cheatham of Alamo, died Monday, October 28 in the Haywood County hospital at Brownsville about 4 a.m. She had an operation a short time ago and died of pneumonia. Services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Baptist church conducted by the Revs. Morris Prince of Ridgely, and J. Paul Palmer, her pastor. She is survived by her husband, Ewell Cheatham, seven children, Billy, Zana May, Nancy, James E., Carolyn Ruth, and Serena M. (only 6 children named), and her mother, Mrs. Thomas Smith. Burial was in Alamo cemetery with Ronk Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cheatham was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Serena Smith Cheatham was the daughter of James Thomas & Nannie Smith |
