The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, September 23, 1948 Vol. 16, No. 30 Mr. Edd Carter passes away--Edwin Samuel Carter, born on November 22, 1878 at Dexter, Mo., passed away September 15, 1948 at home. His wife, Rose Fischer Carter, preceded him in death September 8, 1947. Mr. Carter lived the most of his life in Missouri. For the past several years he had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Oran L. Hill of Route 1, Bells, Tenn. Mr. Carter is survived by one sister, Mrs. Tom F. Steele of St. Louis, Mo., two brothers, Rob O. Carter of Inglewood, Calif., and A. Q. Carter of Pittsfield, Ill., two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Olga F. Murdock of Springer, N. M. and Mrs. Oran L. Hill of Bells and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Goosmann Funeral Home with Rev. King Dickerson of Humboldt holding the services. Out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom F. Steele, St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. A. Q. Carter, Pittsfield, Ill.; Mr. R. B. Potashnick, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Mrs. Juanita Elzey, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Mrs. Thomas Simpson, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Mrs. R. L. Woods, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Mr. J. D. Hill, Tucson, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Curtis, Mrs. Doyle Ward, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Forsel, Memphis. |
