Joe F. Carman

Services were held at Friendship Church of Christ at 11 Sunday for Joe Fielder Carman, manager of the Jackson A. & P. Supermarket, who died of a heart attack early Friday during a visit at the home of his brother, Bob Carman of near Friendship. Burial was in Elizabeth Cemetery under direction of Sudbury Funeral Home. Mr. Carman was 48.

He was born in Dyer County, and later moved to Rutherford, where he remained until moving to Jackson in 1938. He was a World War I veteran and member of the John A. Deaver Post, American Legion at Jackson.

In addition to his brother, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Beulah Babb Carman; a son, Joe Wilford Carman; two daughters, Miss Neva Sue Carman of Trenton and Miss Joanne Carman of New York; five other brothers, Vernon, John, Mack and Sam Carman, all of Friendship, and Ed Carman of St. Louis, and seven sisters, Mrs. Porter Vernon, Mrs. Florence Beaver, Mrs. Jennie Alford, Mrs. Mandy Clark and Mrs. Lucy Watson, all of Friendship, Mrs. S. D. Sewell of Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. Lula Ellison of Chicago.
