The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, November 11, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 37 J. M. Carman--Services for J. M. (Mack) Carman were held at the Church of Christ in Friendship at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. A. C. Carpenter, Church of Christ minister of Brownsville, Tenn., officiated. Burial was in Sudbury Cemetery with Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Carman died at his home in Friendship Saturday afternoon after an illness of two years. He was 77 and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Carman was a retired planter having moved to town about five years ago. Mr. Carman was an outstanding citizen and was for a number of years a leading grocery man of Friendship in partnership with the late William Curtis. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Laura Warden Carman and five brothers, Sam Carman, John Carman, Vernon Carman and Bob Carman all of Friendship and Edd Carman of St. Louis; five sisters, Mrs. Lucy Watson, Mrs. Mandy Clark, Mrs. Jennie Alford and Mrs. Winnie Vernon all of Friendship and Mrs. Hessie Sewell of Bradenton, Fla. |
