The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, November 28, 1946 Mrs. Mary L. Byrd Services were held Friday at Salem Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Mary L. Byrd, who died at the Webb-Williamson Hospital in Jackson on November 20th after an illness of two weeks. She was 87. Burial was in Salem cemetery. She was born and reared in this county and live here most of her life. She moved to Jackson 20 years ago. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Methodist Church. She leaves two sons, J. D. James and Joe B. Byrd, both of Crockett County; two daughters, Mrs. T. P. Williams and Mrs. Donnie Williams, both of Jackson; two brothers, Jeff Cherry, Memphis and Alfred Cherry of Crockett County. Mary L. (Mollie) Cherry was the daughter of John & Martha Cherry. She married 1st to Zack James, 2nd 5 Aug 1884 to Aaron A. Byrd. |
