The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, June 5, 1947 Mrs. L. B. Burke Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Friendship for Mrs. Lottie B. Burke, who died of leukemia at her home early Friday morning, the Rev. W. C. Skinner officiating. Mrs. Burke was born in Malden, Mo. in 1877. She came to Friendship 24 years ago with her husband John Burke and one daughter, Bertie Burke. They managed the Burke Hotel until the death of her husband and daughter. Since that time she has carried on the management of the hotel until a few days before her death, when she was carried to Baird-Brewer Hospital in Dyersburg, where her condition was found to be very serious. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and very prompt in all church and civic affairs. Burial in Bellevernon Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. |
