The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, September 25, 1947 Eugene Buford Eugene Buford, well known farmer of the Cross Roads community, died Sunday morning at his home after a lingering illness. He was 65. Mr. Buford was reared in this county and was a deacon and charter member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. He was an outstanding citizen and had many friends. Mr. Buford is survived by his wife; two sons, Grover Lee and Charter Buford of Cross Roads community; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Privett of Bells; two sisters, Mr. H. O. Privett of Alamo and Mrs. Ned Smothers of Bells, and four brothers, Jim, Gray and Rix Buford of the Fifth District and Frank Buford of Humboldt. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. Oscar Patterson and Rev. Alvin West. Burial in Belleview Cemetery under direction of Goosmann Funeral Home. |
